I’ve been doing a lot of weekend trips this year, and with more planned. I’m not going on a ‘big’ trip (saving that for next year… hopefully!) so I’ve been busying myself with some little adventures. I went to Queenstown in February, Taupo for my brother’s wedding at Easter, Melbourne in March, Melbourne again in May, Wellington last weekend. And I’ve got Sydney in August and Queenstown again in December. How great is that?! Basically I’ve decided I’m a low-fare-flight guru and just go for it whenever I see a good deal. Winning.

Wellington turned on the sun for us last weekend. PRO TIP: If you have a few hours to kill before your flight home, make your way out to the Maranui Surf Club. It’s the best cafe in the world (according to me) and an amazing place to relax and take in the view.
A trip to Wellington anytime in the next four years absolutely must include a visit to Te Papa. Specifically, the Gallipoli exhibition. It. Is. Amazing. It has been supported by Sir Peter Jackson, so you can be sure it’s full of amazing info and visuals from the history buff himself. Be warned, the queue is always going to be long, and there’s always going to be some serious bottle-necks in parts, but try and take it all in… especially the larger-than-life figures of the soldiers. They are breathtaking. PRO TIP: go around 5pm. The queue is at its best then.
I’ve been spending a lot of time around these guys. Isn’t bed just the greatest place ever?
Not going to lie, I know the rain sucks but I do love that it’s trench coat weather again. God I love my trench coat. It’s practically marriage material.
What have you been up to lately?
