Things have been a bit quiet around here lately (ummm…. one MIGHT say they always are, but let’s pretend I’m usually posting really regularly for now) and it’s because I’ve been working on a project with a friend that I’m really excited to share with you!
Introducing… PICK + PALEO
Leah first introduced me to the Whole30 which I read about on her blog with intrigue for a year or so before giving it a go myself (which you can read about here) and since then we’ve had a lot of conversations about paleo and Whole 30 eating. About two months ago, one of these conversations was about the lack of paleo and Whole 30 resources specifically for New Zealanders…… and that was when a lightbulb went off.
Most of the blogs and social media channels that we followed and found reliable were based state-side, which was frustrating at times (especially the time I saw delicious-looking zucchini fritters on the official Whole 30 instagram so went out and bought all the ingredients only to realise after that zucchinis were out of season and I’d just spent $10 on 4 little skinny ones. Whoops!) and we definitely saw a gap in the market that we thought we could fill.
We also thought there needed to be a place for all those up-and-coming brands to showcase their products. Those little startups at the farmers markets every weekend – we wanted to build them an audience and help promote their products.
PICK + PALEO launches today and is going to include a wide range of topics surrounding the paleo lifestyle. We’ll be reviewing products, cookbooks, sharing recipes and tips, and we’ll also be building a directory where you can find a comprehensive list of all the paleo and Whole 30 products available in New Zealand.
