• Having something on every night of the week is not great for your bank account, your fitness levels, or your alertness, but it’s totally worth it once in a while because it’s so much fun and keeps you feeling alive.

• Having a boss who supports you and understands you is the best.thing.ever. I knew – I just knew – that as soon as I left my old job I’d realise how bad things had actually become, and how much crap I was putting up with – instead of ignoring so much of it it order to just get through the day. But I’ve gone from one polar opposite to the other and it is mind blowing. I wish all managers could sit down with my boss and get a lesson in treating their staff right.

• The iPhone 6 is going to change my life. I don’t have the evidence to have ‘figured this out’ quite yet, but I can almost 100% guarantee it.

• Working really really really hard on something always pays off. Even if it’s not a success either it will be soon, or it really doesn’t matter because the pure satisfaction of putting your heart and soul into it is worth it anyway.

• OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I JUST BOOKED THE BEST HOLIDAY EVERY I’M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED!

• Every girl should get nail art at some point in their lives. Here’s what is currently adorning my nails and it really is magical.

• It was a big day in New Zealand yesterday with the general election. It was also my first time voting. New Zealanders don’t have to vote, which is both good and bad. Even though I’ve been eligible to vote for 12 years, I’ve spent 9 of those years living out of New Zealand and this is my first election since moving home for good, so I really wanted to vote. There was one election held back when I was at uni but I decided I hadn’t educated myself on politics enough to make an informed decision, and that’s why I think having the freedom of choice is good – I probably would have just ticked the first box in the list if I’d been made to!

  Anyway, all that being said – the vote didn’t go how I wanted it to and I’m quite sad about it. The National Party and John Key are back in power for a third term and I really just think that’s far too long for one party. I really wish we could have all voted for change, but I’ll just remain confident that I did my bit and hope for the best next time.
